Therapy procedure

Therapy procedure

In the SWiNGMED treatment, the patient is slowly pulled up on the „SWiNGMED“ device while being held by specially upholstered slings that are fixed onto the distal lower leg. The therapy comprises three stages.

Medical examination before start of treatment

Before a treatment is started, the patient presenting with back pain must be examined and diagnosed by a physician to determine both indications and contraindications.

Duration of treatment and therapy frequency

The treatment lasts appr. 30 minutes. In most cases, it is administered two to three times a week. On average, a total of 6 to 10 treatments are required.
Success rate of appr. 80%; according to studies, the effect lasts for several months in most cases.

Position 1: lifting of the pelvis

An ergonomically designed bed, which is smoothly adjustable to a height of 20 to 50 cm, enables comfortable initiation of the treatment.

Position 2: lifting of the torso while the shoulders remain in contact with the mattress underneath

In order to reach the shoulder stand position without painfully flexing the cervical spine, the headrest of the therapeutic bed is lowered while the legrest is lifted upwards. From this position, the patient can be lifted comfortably into the next treatment positions.

Position 3: Free hanging position

The patient can be comfortably led back from the free hanging position into the starting (lying) position by sliding down on the legrest while the device unit is lowered.
